English - Aigli Hotel, Grevena

Aigli Hotel functioned as a inn from 1890 until 1930 when it was demolished to rebuild from scratch. The hotel started operating pre-war in 1935. It is one of the few remaining historic sites in our city that continues to be unshackled in the past despite the renovation in 2004.
The building was renovated in neoclassical construction to serve as an example of an architectural building in the county. Because of its strategic location - located in the heart of the city - the building was used as a command by the German occupation forces and the Allied Liberation Forces. On the balconies made speech the most famous post-war personalities of Greece, such as George Papandreou, George Mavros, Charilaos Florakis, Leonidas Kirkos, Miltiadis Evert, while artistic and theatrical personalities such as Avlonitis, Vasilliadou, Chajichristom and theatrical figures were hosted in his premises.
